Jawdat M. Al-Halabi

Jawdat M. Al-Halabi is an experienced retired banking management executive and family office advisor with more than 38 years of experience in the GCC and MENA Region. He has extensive experience with Corporate, Investment Banking & Private Wealth Management.

He started his career as a Trainee Corporate lending Banker with Saudi American Bank (Citibank Affiliate) in Saudi Arabia in 1984. He held several positions in the corporate bank last of which was head of the petrochemical unit. In 1990 joined Saudi Hollandi Bank (ABN AMRO affiliate) as part of the team that was recruited to restructure the bank. Held the positions of head of the Corporate Bank and the Regional Manager for the Western Region in Saudi Arabia. In 1995, rejoined Saudi American Bank to Head the Structured Finance Unit and set up the Islamic Banking Unit. In 1997, he joined The National Commercial Bank (NCB) to head the Corporate Bank in the Western Region and in 1999 took over as Head of Private Banking. In 2005, Mr. Al-Halabi joined Arab Bank plc in Jordan as the Global Head of Private Banking and the Managing Director of Atlas Investment Group (later rebranded as AB Invest) where he restructured and re-launched the Global Private Banking for Arab Bank.

Following that in 2009 Al-Halabi joined NCB Capital (Investment Banking Arm of the National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia) as Head of Wealth Management and later in 2010, took over as the CEO till 2014 when he decided to step down and exit the Banking Field after spending 30 years in it. During which time he also severed on the Boards of Arab Bank Switzerland, Al-Arabi Investment Group - AB Invest (Jordan), Al-Arabi Capital - AB Capital (DIFC - Dubai), NCB Capital (Board member, Excom member, Norcom member), East Gate Capital Group, DIFC – Dubai (Chairman, Norcom Chairman, Investment committee Chairman), HC Securities – Egypt (Board member), The Capital Partnership, DIFC-Dubai (Chairman).

In Q2 2014, Mr. Al-Halabi Set up a Private Family Office in Dubai for a Saudi Family and set up the family Trusts, Family Charter, Family Governance, The Investment Process and Risk Policy. In 2019, he decided to take a less involved role with the family and continues to sit on the Trust Committees. He Served on the Boards of Rolaco Trading & Contracting (Jeddah) and Gulf General Insurance Cooperative Insurance (Jeddah) as Board member, Chairman of the Risk Committee and Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Winter Valley Tourism Investment Company (Jordan).

Since then, he co-founded Ennovate LLC a UAE based Business consultancy firm with group of seasoned finance professionals experienced in structuring and transformation. focusing on Debt Management, Operational & Management Restructuring, M&A and Family Business Management & Governance.

He currently sits on the Boards of:

• Semiramis Hotel Co, Egypt, Board member and Chairman of Audit Committee
• Amman Pharmaceutical Industries Co. Jordan

Mr. Al-Halabi, holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University-1984, attended the Wharton Executive Development Program-1994, the Stanford Executive Program-2002 and the Wharton School Corporate Governance effectiveness in the Board Room program - 2022
